You know how in 4.xx you can click on and hold down on the back and formward buttons when applicable to bring up a list of up to x url's before or after the one your at? In IE it has the same thing except is does it with a small button beside the forward and back buttons (looks like this > [back][] ) To get the list on IE you click on the small buttons instead of clicking on and holding downon the big buttons. How about making it so that when this feature is implemented in Mozilla that it does it this way instead of the normal netscape way. It seems easier for newbies this way and wont interfere with the the buttons. Also being able to configure in prefrences the amount of url's it will allow in the drop down box may be usefull. (I think it's 15 now, how about giving the user the option to allow anything from 1 to x ? If the amount they allow is so large that opening it up with that many url's may cause a crash then a pop up warning could allert them of this prior to okaying it.

Summary: [enhancement] Back and Forward button drop down url list sugestion → [RFE] Back and Forward button drop down url list sugestion
Yes we want to add these drop-downs to back and forward, but unlike MS apps to the left of the back button and to the right of the forward button to keep the symmetry between the two, and to keep back and forth in close proximity, since users are using them often together. (I know this sounds unusual, but looks and works well, so lets try that). behavior should be like this: on mouseover both the button and popdown hilite, on mousedown over the popup, only the popup depresses, on mousedown over the button only the button depresses, on disabled both the popup and the button are disabled. I disagree with adding more stuff to the prefs, since those are already overloaded with many things few people need and are getting harder and harder to navigate. Lets just settle on 10 items for each back and forward. Re-assigning to Don for implementation.

So, German, who is going to add the 2 buttons? you or me? I already have the implementation in place for 10 urls to show up. I think you will be a better guy to add the buttons. I'll hook up the implementation.

Can you post instructions on how to activate your menus please? Or a patch needed... Thanks.
Moving all UE/UI bugs to new component: User Interface: Design Feedback UE/UI component will be deleted.

I'd just like to jog this bug, since it hasn't been touched in a half-year. This is crucial functionality for everyday work. My primary use of it is to go back two, skipping over a noxious redirect. M20 is the last milestone. I say move it up at least one milestone so we can jog this feature before the thing ships.

Adding bug28408 to the depends on list, I believe this was the problem.

Should this really be M20? I think this should have been in the first beta, and it certainly needs to be there for release.

moving priority up to m17 to get on Don's radar. Radha who works in Don's team is actually pretty far on implementing the plumbing. I understand Ben will be implmenting the actual XUL/CSS on top of it. Ben, if you need more info wrt the UI on top of what we've talked about pls feel free to bounce the bug back to me.
