When attempting to access the java chat applet at theliuxshow.com, I was prompted to download and install the jre to enable the plugin to function. After installing the jre, restarting the computer (gotta love windoze!), and accessing the same page, I was still prompted to download the plugin and install it. Therefore, the initial download did not work. After upgrading to the latest release, and then reinstalling the jre, I still have the same problem installing the applet. Attempted reinsallations do not work. Plugin does not install. Please investigate and fix.

Win98SE 2001101603 When accessing that site I get a "Certificate Expired Message" and the following in the Java Console: java.lang.SecurityException: class "Ident"'s signer information does not match signer information of other classes in the same package

Also, make sure you have ALL of the Java DLL's in your Mozilla /plugins/ directory. NPJava11.dll NPJava12.dll NPJava131.dll NPJava32.dll NPOJ1600.dll The last dll for some unknown reason is sometimes omitted upon installation. It was in mine and as soon as I copied it over it solved a lot of Java problems. I have no idea why.

Reporter, how did you get your mozilla? Did you build it, downloaded from web, or some tar file? If you did not downloaded from the Web, then you need to copy the files mentioned by Jay earlier. Then try it again, and see what hapens.
If you do need to copy the dll files over, they should be (by default) at: C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.0_01\bin, and the files should be (a little different from Jay's, I just downloaded them today): NPJava130_01.dll NPJava130_01a.dll NPJava130_01b.dll NPJava130_01c.dll NPOJI600.dll

--->INVALID Reporter: Use the Netscape 6 FULL installer to get Java. In Mozilla, you need to read the release notes and copy manually.
