Details

(Whiteboard: [specification][type:bug][tech:ckeditor])

What did you do?
================
1. In the editor, highlight some text.
2. Hit Cmd-K to open the link editor.
3. Set the link destination.
4. Save the change.

What happened?
==============
After step 2, the "Article title/Link text" edit field in the link editor dialog is set to the exact text that was selected in step 1.

After step 3 (which might be simultaneous with step 2 if the selected text exactly matches a page title), the content of the "Article title/Link text" box changes to the title of the selected page followed by, in square brackets, the locale of that page.

Nothing you do after this will change that. You can edit the link text field all you want, but after saving the page, the text that was selected in step 1 is changed to the title of the target page followed by the locale name in square brackets.

What should have happened?
==========================
The selected text should not be changed.

Is there anything else we should know?
======================================
This is annoying as hell while writing articles that include in-context links to helpful pages; it changes your prose and adds cruft to boot.
I think this is a duplicate of bug 1121493 (the second dupe already). It is very disturbing to me.
Marking as ckeditor bug with :davidwalsh as the mentor.
