Details
1. Install flash plugin for solaris. 2. Go to any page contains flash. Result: Browser crushes with output: X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) Major opcode of failed request: 72 (X_PutImage) Sone additional details: Looks like that is BadMatch means wrong visual. Using of 'xdpyinfo' says: ----- default visual id: 0x20 [...skip...] visual: visual id: 0x20 class: PseudoColor depth: 8 planes available colormap entries: 256 red, green, blue masks: 0x0, 0x0, 0x0 significant bits in color specification: 8 bits ----- If we run openwin with '-dev /dev/fb defdepth 24', for example, and start mozilla with this default visual, flash plugin will work fine. Note: netscape 4.xx works fine with default visual id 0x20.
Summary: flash prugin crushes browser under openwin → flash plugin crushes browser under openwin
I've found interesting details. Tried to run solaris version of mozilla with exceed X server under Win98. Tuned windows resolution to 8bit color. Exceed X server switched to default visual 0x21 (PseudoColor,8bit), that is, same as 0x20 visual on solaris openwin. All flashes work. But solaris openwin and linux Xfree with 8bit visual cause mozilla crush. Going to investigate this problem more. You can assign bug to me.
