The Find bookmarks feature is too heavyweight. It should either be renamed Search to match the results, or work like other Find features in the product, and the Bookmkark find feature in previous versions.

Nav triage team: nsbeta1+/adt3. The Tools menu in the bookrmarks manager says ``Search Bookmarks'' but the dialog title and text says ``Find Bookmarks''. Please change the dialog title and text to be consistent with the menu item and say ``Search Bookmarks''.

See also bug 95748, which asks for 4.x's behavior of just highlighting the found bookmark rather than opening a new search-results window.

Yes, that is what most people want.

Most people want 4.x style find and not something easier, more obvious and considerably more powerful like quicksearch is in mailnews?

That's a secondary consideration, the primary difference is that they want to find the item in context, not isolated out of context, as search and quicksearch currently do. I do think that quicksearch would be a valuable addition to Find, much better than having the current Search, but not a replacement for Find.

I agree with Trudelle. This is not a dup of either of those bugs.
we don't have two do either of these, but they're talking points. i think changing the dtd is definitely worth doing, but i'm not sure what people would say to changing ctrl-f to ctrl-shift-f (note that it's accel, not control, so it is platform sensitive, but ...)

Could someone add the 4xp keyword; I don't have permission to do so.

> Most people want 4.x style find and not ... Yes! We want to be able to find our bookmarks within the bookmarks hierarchy (such as to do something besides request the bookmarked page). > something easier, How is getting a list of matching bookmarks easier? It doesn't help one bit with finding bookmarks within the hierarchy. > more obvious and Huh? > considerably more powerful It's not more powerful.

I just now reviewed the comments for this bug, for bug #56418, and for bug #95748. These all appear to be duplicates of each other. Two should be closed. See my comment *67* under bug #56418.
