Ok here it is finally, the mac documentation can be found on Mozdev project http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/ and on http://www.aycuens.com/mozilla/macosplugins.html, comments and corrections are welcome.

per discussion on IRC, Adobe Acrobat Reader 6 works with Mozilla, but PDF opens in a separate window (AR6 manual confirms that PDF cannot be opened in Web browser window).
