Details

The URLbar autocomplete popup no longer appears on the Mac trunk. (The 1.0
branch is unaffected.) This is not the same as bug 126480 (which actually I
can't reproduce anyway). This bug is fallout from my trunk fix for bug 120155.
For some reason keeping the popup widget generally hidden until it's really
wanted prevents its ever appearing on the Mac. You can still cycle through its
choices using arrow keys, but the menu never appears.

steps:
1) In a browser window: assure the popup widget *should* appear: type
www.amazon.com into the URLbar, load the page. Repeat with www.adobe.com.
2) Type www.a into the URLbar. Nothing! Notice up and down arrows flit through
several amazon and adobe choices, however.
Dupe of 140753, already duped to 120155 :-) .

Then it makes no sense to mark this a dupe.  Reopening.  Dan specifically filed
this bug to track this problem.

Target Milestone: --- → mozilla1.1alpha
This probably is the cause for bug 129797 and bug 139112.
It seems to be fixed in recent trunk builds, while RC2 and RC3 have this
problem. Therefore the target milestone does not make sense to me.
Wasn't this fixed by the fix for bug 120155?

I no longer see this. and no activity for a long time.  can it be closed?

This bug is targeted at a Mac classic platform/OS, which is no longer supported
by mozilla.org. Please re-target it to another platform/OS if this bug applies
there as well or resolve this bug.

I will resolve this bug as WONTFIX in four weeks if no action has been taken.

I'm a bad owner for this bug since I no longer have access to a Mac. So I'm
dumping it on sfraser. Simon, this bug is scheduled to be resolved. It could
stand to be saved if it's still a problem, which it could be even on OS X.
