sometimes when i cancel a download, chimera will crash. it doesn't happen all the time, but below is a test which is reproducible. i'm also on a slower connection (DSL at home, as opposed to the T1/high speed in the office), which might make it easier to repro. found using the 2002.06.27.05 chimera build. 1. bring up the context menu for the URL http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/mozilla-macosX-trunk.smi.bin and select "save link as" 2. the download progress dlg appears --let it download for at least 5-6sec, then click the Cancel button. results: crash. report coming up...

looks like a throbber crash. Can you reproduce this without a throbber on the toolbar?

why was this marked a duplicate of the meta blockers bug? or, did you mean to make this a blocker for bug 147975? i'm guessing the latter and reopening... will test this out with a more recent build in a bit...

hrm, well i'm now at the office with a highspeed connection and cannot repro this using 2002.07.01.05 nb. i can try this again once i'm at home... saari, i don't *think* i had the throbber icon in the toolbar when i had encountered this using the 6/27 build. but, i'll doublecheck.
i fixed a bug with this stacktrace on 6/27. if you can't dupe it, that's good cuz that bug was verified on 6/28 ;) it was bug 154277 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 154277 ***

07-01 build. yes, I did mean that this blocks 147975 and not a dupe of it. I see that the stack is the same as the stack for bug 154277, and that 154277 was verified. However, following Sarah's original bug report, I'm still able to repro the bug and crash it (in the office) and get the same stack trace as the one that Sarah attached in this bug. Reopening... :(

gah, now that i'm testing this at home...i cannot repro using the 2002.07.01.05 nb. fooey! then again, the throbber icon is not in the toolbar... i'll check this out a bit more. fwiw, i've trashed (moved) my profile, to avoid bug 155143.
okay...maybe this should fall under the realm of "tricky to repro"... because now i can repro this. not this the URL i had originally reported which oddly wfm, but (at least *this* time) with http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/chimera/nightly/2002-07-01-05/Chimera.dmg.gz a large file is at least needed for this to occur, i think. also, i got this to crash whether or not the throbber icon was in the toolbar.
->sdagley for investigation. How tricky is this to reproduce

unable to repro this using the sample links here (plus some others) using 2002.07.08.13 nb. mind you, this is from my office machine (faster connection) --is anyone else able to repro this now? marking vrfy'd fixed --pls reopen if it's still an issue.
