User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030509 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030908 Almost any keyboard input might cause the similar hang. Mozilla simply stops reacting to any events what so ever (keyboard and mouse) and also stops redrawing the screen. The mozilla-bin binary seems to survive alive, but remains indefinitely stopped in either select() or poll(). This does not always happen with the first keyboard input, but given a little time and a few input attempts in can be invariably reproduced. Sometimes the problem is triggered while trying to write to a text box, but also trying to use the arrow keys or page-up page-down keys to move within the page can trigger this bug. Also this can happen either in the browser or in the mailer window. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. See the detail section. 2. 3. Actual Results: Mozilla totally hangs. Expected Results: Accept the input.
This does not seem to be security-sensitive, removing flag. Not sure what the correct component would be, starting with Editor: Core. Reporter, have you seen this with any other platforms? Can you get some stack traces from the hang situation?

I have this problem too. mozilla will hang, leaving me with only one option - restarting the computer manually (Alt+SysRq+whatever not responding). this happens on Mozilla browser, MailNews (V 1.5 and 1.6) and Firebird (V 0.7). I'm using Mandrake Linux (9.1 Kernel 2.4.21) on an AMD 700Mhz with 256MB RAM. please ask me for any other info which may help solving this bug, as it is very annoying!!

this is the output of "strace mozilla-bin" . it remains unchanged as mozilla hangs (the last line is the same as it was before the hang), but dunno.. it may prove useful to someone.....

I can confirm this. (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de-AT; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040413 Debian/1.6-5 ) I have had the same Problem on 2 different PC's both using a fresh installation of debian sarge. If I select any input box or text field the browser crashes and stops reacting to anything. Epiphany has the same Problem.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
