on this entry form you can select Windows OS from win3.1/win95/Win98/WinXP/WinNT/Win2K Bugzilla Helper only offers 98/NT/2000/XP Win95 and WinME bugs differ significantly from Win98, so it would be nice, if people using the helper could select the right OS. There is also missing Solaris and OS/2, I often see bugs filed as OS: other, from people who definitely know better, if you are reading their bugs. Now I know why.

Bugzilla Helper offers an intentionally limited selection of OSes, plus the OS which the user is using to file the report. If you regularly file OS/2 bugs from a Windows box, apply for upgraded privileges :-) Gerv

gerv: you're missing the point. herman has editbugs, he's noting the number of bugs filed by other people who know better.

The Bugzilla Helper is not designed to give every possible option. This is a conscious design decision, not a bug. If you can give me an example of an OS where you use it, yet that OS does not appear in the list, that's a bug and I'll fix it. If you can show me a person who is filing bugs for OS Foo under "other" when OS Foo appears in their list anyway, I'll show a silly person. If you can show a person who regularly files bugs for OS Foo under OS Bar, and so ends up filing them under "other" because they are using the Helper, I'll up their privileges. Gerv
From Gervase Markham 2003-09-12 00:07: >If you can give me an example of an OS where you use it, yet that OS does not >appear in the list, that's a bug and I'll fix it. I just entered <a href="http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227165>227165</a>, and was referred to this bug. When entering a new bug from OS/2, OS/2 does not appear in the list of operating systems. That was the case for the last few bugs I entered, going back over a year.
