Details

On both M12 and the latest nightly build from Jan 5 2000, running on
debian linux distro on amd k6-2 300 kernel 2.3.31, when I try to hit the
site

https://www.collegestore.com/customize/storefront_logo.asp?store_id=22625

nothing appears to happen and i get this error echoed back on my terminal:

FindShortcut:
in='https://www.collegestore.com/customize/storefront_logo.asp?store_id=22625'
out='null'
JavaScript Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component
returned failure code: 0x804b0012 [nsIBrowserInstance.loadUrl]" nsresult:
"0x804b0012 (<unknown>)"  location: "JS frame ::
chrome://navigator/content/navigator.js :: BrowserLoadURL :: line 1184"  data: no]

It is repeatable with both m12 and the latest nightly build.

So, https:// requires SSL, and there are no SSL bits in the Mozilla releases.
The bug here is really that there is no user feedback of this situation, and
there is an open bug that is tracking this issue -- bug #17697.
Marking DUPLICATE. Thanks mikelea@charm.net.
