User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040221 Firefox/0.8.0+ (marcoos) The pages: http://www.mozilla.org/products/mozilla1.x/sysreq.html and http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/system-requirements.html suggest that the minimum processor for Mozilla and Firefox is Intel Pentium 233 MHz. This processor is identified in Linux as "i586". But... the links to the builds are like this one: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.6/mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-1.6-installer.tar.gz The links suggest that Mozilla needs i686 (which is Pentium II or newer&compatible). Moreover, about:buildconfig says that the target platform is i686-pc-linux-gnu. It seems that Mozilla won't run on i586 (even though Mozilla.org website says so). Probably the sys. req. pages for Mozilla and Firefox should be updated. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to the URL mentioned in summary Actual Results: 1. See "Pentium 233 Mhz" as the minimum AND the link to an i686 build. Expected Results: 1. See "Pentium II" as the minimum OR a link to an i586 build.
nope. we just have a screwy way of naming binaries. i believe the binaries will actually run on 486s, but i don't have any handy.
