remove the clear button in the mail quick search and addressbook quick search

do we really need a clear button?  other search boxes don't have a clear box,
and I think people know to clear the text they type to clear a search.

and, we can reclaim that real estate for other things, like maybe "(n matches
found)" status text or something.

some of david's thoughts on this:

dbienvenu: I don't know, I guess I'm just used to it.
dbienvenu: it doesn't make sense with an ldap directory, obviously...
dbienvenu: but an AB - kinda yes.
dbienvenu: it's just easier than selecting the text and pressing delete...
dbienvenu: which requires keyboard and mouse...

dbienvenu: in those, and the ab, you want to find a result
dbienvenu: and you usually don't want to return to the normal view
dbienvenu: you might want to do another search.
dbienvenu: but the normal view isn't that interesting...
dbienvenu: whereas in mail, it is.
dbienvenu: e.g., you're in quick search, and new mail arrives in your folder...

Fixing to make this WFM, as Lorenzo intended in comment 3.  But yes, I agree 
with Bienvenu's remarks in comment 1.
