Description of problem:
When received a mail including header "From" and "Sender" found that both one
are translated into a same name in locale zh-CN and zh-TW. Consequently, user
cannot filter messages only depend on "Sender" header.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
thunderbird-2.0.0.18-1.fc10.i386
Tested Tar File: thunderbird-2.0.0.18.tar.gz

How reproducible:
Everytime

Steps to Reproduce:
1. under locale zh-CN or zh-TW
2. run thunderbird and get a mail including both "From" and "Sender" header

Actual results:
"From" and "Sender" are translated into same name.

Expected results:
Should be different name thus user could identify between them and be able to
create a filter which header is "Sender".

Do we need to fix this for thunderbird 2.0.0.x?
Looks like that Thunderbird 3 doesn't show this "sender" to user.

It's strange that Thunderbird 2 doesn't have this sender in windows platform.

Thunderbird 2 is used by various OS like fedora 8/9/10, opensuse 11,11.1 (I can confirm only those). Thunderbird 3 release will available in most probably in next release. Better if we are able fix.

oh, I have linux system only and my result was based on that
Attached image add filter rule window
Checked in Linux confirm this in linux. but it does not affect creating filters.
Confirmed in zh-TW. (didn't find the bug since it doesn't file under zh-TW component.)

Any suggestion on zh-CN side? Which one should remain the current translation?
I've also found lots of strings mentioned "Sender" but I am not sure it means e-mail on "Sender" field or "From" header.

Tim
I'm not clear about the difference of this two email address in the bug screenshot.
But I think the sender should be change to something else, becuase in TB translation we use "发件人" for "From". and in most case, we use From , not sender.
"Form" in the mail field can be set whatever people want to show, while "Sender" is the field set by the mail server to identify who is the actual sender.

For example, in GMail, you can add a new e-mail address in "Send mail as" setting:
https://mail.google.com/mail/#settings/accounts
That make "From" field appear as such name and address, but your original GMail address will still be shown in the header as "Sender".

Anyway, zh-TW decided we are going to translate "From" simply as "從" and "Sender" as "寄件者" when they appear at the same dialog. Consider RESOLVED FIXED at zh-TW side.

This doesn't seem to be fixed in Simplified Chinese? Unless I'm looking at the wrong strings, given that Thunderbird is not my area.

@YFdyh000
Do you have time to look into this?

Flags: needinfo?(yfdyh000)

I just changed some of the "From" to the "来自" instead of "发件人", others adds stated, at https://pontoon.mozilla.org/zh-CN/thunderbird/. However, I am not a Thunderbird user for now.

I think this bug is not for "From" , but for "Sender".
We need to change the translation for some of the "Sender".
