I don't know if it's a bug?  I vannot find a way of emailing the problem

The two parts of the summary seem to be contradictory.
Do the entries in the locationbar dropdown have yellow stars? Then these are bookmarks.
For the part "History of visited site never displays" how many days to you store history? (Tools > Options > Privacy)

The entries in the location bar do not have stars.  Yes some of them have stars, about 1% of them do but they are not the ones in question.  What i'm saying is nothing erases from the list, whether using manual delete OR via internet options erasure.  They do appear to delete manually, but reappear as soon as you type the 1st letter in.  Regards the 'no history showing'.  It doesn't make any difference in tools/options regards how long to keep history.  The history folder remains empty, yet the url list always full.

I also think there should be a way to clear the history of type ins from the URL even when they are bookmarks, not just hide it as the link in comment 2 helps with. I realize that many people may not want to do this, but can't it be a setting in about:config or something? Right now you have to actually delete the entire prefs.js file and reset all your configurations in order to really get rid of the record.

I should clarify: I have the browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped setting in about:config turned on, and while I understand that the bookmarks are automatically included in the suggestions in the URL bar, I don't understand why the type-in history of them does not clear. Most type-in sites clear in 7 days like I have them set, but anything in my bookmarks that I've typed at any point continues to show up. Can this be changed somehow?

This is a mass search for Firefox General bugs filed against version 3.0 that are UNCO and have not been changed for 200 days.

Reporter, please update to Firefox 3.6.10 or alter. Firefox 3.0 is no longer supported and is no longer receiving updates. After you update, please create a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/kb/managing+profiles, and test to see if your bug still exists. If you still the bug, then please post a comment with the version you tested against, and the problem. If the issue is no longer there, please set the RESOLUTION to  RESOLVED, WORKSFORME.

No reply from reporter, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
