Since Mozilla head suggests using Bing as default search provider, perhaps adding Bing to the list of available search engines (in the top right search box) would be good.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click down arrow of search engine box
2. Bing is not on the list and I don't see a way to add it.
3.
Works fine for me by means of the link "Make Bing your search provider".

This should be one of the search engines that's available by default (just like Yahoo, Amazon, Ebay, etc.)
I like the idea of having it as a search engine, but NOT default IMHO. I imagine Google is much more popular
Sorry I'm using Ubuntu not windows
The point was that the head of mozilla org stated that he thought Bing privacy was far better than google and suggested that everyone use Bing.... alas, it is not even on the pull down list.
Version: 3.5 Branch → Trunk
This bug is INVALID. Bing is not expected to be "available" unless it's included by default for the locale, but it is something that the user can add through addons.mozilla.org or by going to Bing and installing the search engine using the "Add Search Engine" feature of the search bar.

Jo: bugs will be opened for including Bing by default in the en-US and en-GB locales as per: http://blog.mozilla.com/blog/2010/10/06/refreshing-the-firefox-search-bar/ yes, but that's not this bug.
