It would be good if installer allowed to select where to install some package. As a sysadmin I may like first test some package on just on my test profile ant only then install it for all the users. As a last-nightly user I hate to download all the XPI's when I upgrade. I would like to be able to say when installing - please install them to all profiles of my user (not system place).

Is it even technically possible to do this in a "meta-XPI" fashion? Some XPIs are written to let you choose where they go, others aren't. Can the installer take a chrome-only XPI and modify the code at install "runtime" to re-route everything to the profile?
