Hmm, wonderfully terse, Timeless. I'm reassigning this to Networking-POP in the
hope that it will reach the right person.

Eudora and KClient support Kerberos. RPI (http://www.rpi.edu/) wants to move
to encrypted passwords for everything, but mail in this day and age is still
using plaintext passwords!!! That means you can sniff for peoples' mail
passwords. This is a major privacy issue!

Shouldn't SMTP also support kerberos?

pop case, it uses the AUTH GSSAPI extension, rather than doing KPOP
