make sure u have the xpcom realplayer inside 6.x

go ot the url above
in 4.x, the clip starts playing as soon as the page laods, but not in 6.x. Am 
seeing the same behaviour on cnn site too. Is it just me ?
still happening to me on 0530 trunk ...

Definitely beta blocker material.
I'm marking this FIXED. Just tried with today's build and it works. I think the 
patches I checked in last night for XPCOM streams probably have fixed this.

the clip works now on today's trunk 0601 on win/mac.  VERIFIED

Reopening.  I am seeing a failure for streaming real video content at
www.news.com.  A new window with the plugin opens, but it just continues to say
"buffering video" and never acutally plays it.  I'm using 2001060409.

The problem: trunk vs. branch.  We branched right around the time this fix made 
it in!

The original problem in this bug was fixed.

oops..suddenly this testcase works too (on win branch). But I see what Todd 
mentioned, news.com links show a flash message " buffering video" and never 
laods the movie. hmm
Shrirang, can you attach a capture of the spy plugin on the news.com testcase?

This will have to be a branch check in.  CC'ing folks in PDT given the
importance of this bug -- since it's a regression that affects Real Player, I'm
hoping for a milestone of 0.9.1.  
arun, pls note this is not happening everywhere. Other realplayer streaming is 
working fine.

This is a pretty visible place where we are seeing this problem - there's a good
chance the CNET reviewers/testers could hit this, and plug-ins was something
they specifically asked about I believe when Sol and Gable visited earlier this
week.  I think we should strongly consider this for the branch.  Peter, based on
the problem, how frequently do you think users would run into this broken
functionality on the web?
Well, I hear it now, but I don't see it. That's bad. They are using 
document.layers.

Let's find the fix as quickly as possible, and decide the milestone based on
what we find and when we find it.
Wait...this may not be our fault! Javascript console is spewing out 
tons of document.layers errors. Did they change their markup and did we used to 
work?

Can someone try this in Netscape 6.01?
I had used 0601 trunk to verify this bug earlier. Now today, using the same 
build the same video does not work .cnet changed something definitely.
jsut checked on 6.01 rtm build too. The cnet video does not work on that one 
too. Reassigning : evangelism.
