see the attached testcase.  I think we should render it like IE, colspans should
take the background from their first cell. (or last bidi??)

David, any comments, is it a dupe or invalid?
I think this is something that the CSS WG should take a look at. CSS2 
contradictions aside, this is something that affects both table models.

not sure waht to do with this... does anyone else know the spec well enough to 
help with this one?
