9928 - [BLOCKER] [PP] viewer never loads page; apprunner hangs on launch

Overview Descripton:
   - After launching viewer, the default page doesn't load.  Launching
apprunner will hang.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Install build.
2) Delete the MozillaRegistry.app file from the Preferences folder.
3a) Double-click the viewer app.
3b) Double-click the apprunner app.

Actual Results:
viewer:  will launch, display window with default
resource:/res/samples/test0.html page, throbber does not load, but the
white-numbers-on-black-tile throbber cycles through on an (apparently) infinite
loop.
apprunner:  will begin to launch, draw basic window border and fill in a white
background (with nothing else displayed in the window), no menu bars available,
in a soft-hang situation (can invoke macsbug and 'es' to finder) and when trying
to force-quit, hangs the entire computer.

Expected Results:
viewer & apprunner: launch, load window, load default page.
Build Date & Platform Bug Found:
1999071508 MacOS 8.5

Additional Builds and Platforms Tested ON:
1999071508 Linux 6.0

I think this is related to deleting the mozregistry.dat

If it was working in the previous builds (with no hang-ups), it should continue
to work. We haven't any changes to Profile Manager lately. Please check on Mac
also and confirm whether the behavior still exists.

I am not having problems on Mac PPC OS 8.5 build 1999072108, ProfileManager is
coming up and allowing for creation of new profile.

Christopher,

Are you still having problems....? Grace Bush has tested this on Mac (with
1999072108 build) and didn't encounter any problems. Also, it will be helpful if
you can get a stack trace. That would explain the origin of the problem.

If you are not experiencing the problem, you should mark the bug to be invalid.
