Thanks - I was able to get the relevant revision working. Unfortunately, the test doesn't even stand a chance of passing with the tree in that state (whether before or after the commit in question), as it relies on the bugfixes / improvements to our test utilities made in bug 1470504 and bug 1496864 (which is why this bug is marked as depending on those).
