> """Thunderbird is self-supported by its user community. We need and welcome you. Please give back to the community.""" Except when one person who doesn't need a feature decides that the support isn't needed nor welcome.

This.

How on earth can such a great feature be rejected in such an ignorant manner? I know *a lot* of people who use virtual addresses on a daily basis and esp. Rene's extension made working with emails per se less painful. And it's not only about those "+-addresses", in the end Rene's extension gave us the possibility to use catchall-domains, multiple domains, service-related addresses etc. without a hustle. And with Rene's proposal here it would even make everything easier again.

So, maybe Magnus Melin [:mkmelin] reconsiders his quick rejection, let's at least hope for it. Not updating your email client because an extension is missing can't be the solution.
