Kartikaya, Is the correct comparison Chrome and on macOS, not Safari? I'd also compare to GNOME Web (Epiphany Browser) on Linux. The original bug seemed to be scoped to Windows, and the platform default has changed to Chromium Edge, so matching it on Windows makes sense to me, not so much for macOS and Linux.
