Wow. Seeing the "wontfix" is what hurts the most. It used to be up to me whether to open in current or new tab. I no longer have that choice. Please consider making this configurable after all. You have discussed three possible approaches and I understand why you rejected them all. But there's always approach #0: an `about:config` option.
