Matt, do you let tb save your password?

 I'm not sure if that matters but your comment gave me an idea to test. I set up my main account to not login at tb startup (don't check for mail at startup and don't check mail every X minutes). Then I select Inbox on another account and restarted tb with an IMAP log recording. On restart, the log indicates no connection to the main account as expected. I then send a message while selected on other account but change the "from selector" to my main account and send the message. Looking at the log, I see the sent messages gets imap appended to the main account sent folder as it should after tb logs into the main account using my stored password. The sent message appears in main account sent folder as it should.

If I didn't store the main account password in tb, would it have asked for the imap password when I tried to send?  I haven't checked that yet.

Anyhow, if you don't let tb store your password and you enter it on startup, tb keeps the password so that if the imap connection times out (typically after 30 minutes of doing nothing) it will won't ask for the password again and just go ahead and login when it needs to.

Not sure what you mean by "pushed" transactions...
