For version 2.8 we would like to introduce new glean events. I file this bug to track a new data-review request. Data Request Review Form (full text below) - already reviewed in bug 1711123 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Vzwv9KJYWo4embk7Dn7wS2RJwyMr1mAhf6qOP_FpOas/edit?usp=sharing The publicly available list of collected events can be found here: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/mozilla-vpn-client/blob/main/glean/metrics.yaml The previous metrics.yaml file has already been reviewed multiple times. The new glean events are: 1. Commit: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/mozilla-vpn-client/commit/d0630f2b8c5e9878bfc8f206d56ef12f5acb63f3 Authentication in-app states ad errors: we want to detect how the users interact with the new authentication in-app component and if they are able to go through the whole process. Tracking the states will give us a good understanding of what pages/view has bigger frictions We also want to track unsupported FxA error codes to be fixed in follow-ups. 2. Commit: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/mozilla-vpn-client/commit/17ef7dfd9a4d14bb66a2a370207bf4d571c3db2c New onboarding view - we want to see how useful these new onboarding views are ad how they are used to start the authentication flow.
