First of all, is your report a duplicate of bug 543416 ? It would greatly help if you could either confirm or else state any substantial difference.

In response to your reports:
Please bear with me because I am not an IMAP user, so I may be misunderstanding something, but I don't really understand the problem you describe here:
It seems you are trying to search for a message on a server.
Isn't it obvious you cannot search this server WITHOUT checking `Run search on server` ?

> Tried searching with Search messages without enabling "Run search on server" => cannot find the message.

I also don't understand why you need to repair a folder (last line) when you have already been successful in the previous step (line 2 below):

> Tried searching with Search messages without enabling "Run search on server" => cannot find the message.
> Tried searching with Search messages enabling "Run search on server" => **NOW it can find the message.**
> Clicked in "Repair folder" => **NOW it can find the message.**

I also don't understand why you need to repair a folder (*last line*) when you have already been successful in the previous step (*line 2*):

Also: Why do you need to repair a folder (*last line*) when you have *already* been successful in the previous step (*line 2*):
