Let me take a guess that you're doing this in a VMware Fusion VM. With default settings, networking doesn't work in this configuration. *None* of your apps should be able to reach the network. Edit: Oops, your having mentioned Rosetta means you're on Apple Silicon and aren't using a VMware VM. Sorry for the confusion.
