(I noticed in the thread this bug is probably resolved, but if it is not or a similar bug shows up on the web extensions side, a lead around odd tab behavior might be: Over in bug 1891008 in this [patch](https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D207314#7119802) , WPT needed to adjust the window opener from `geckoview-window-created` to `browser-delayed-startup-finished` to fix intermittent timeouts. Mentioning since originally this code path was imitated from the extension code path under [createNewTab](https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/rev/d23849dd6d83edbe681d3b4828700256ea34a654/mobile/android/modules/geckoview/GeckoViewTab.sys.mjs#106,121).)
