Ben, any idea how the actual status of `View message body as > Original HTML` and the UI status of that option could go out of sync (which is what seems to happen for reporter on Linux)? (In reply to moz20 from comment #0) > Steps to reproduce: > Open an HTML email that contains remote content. How do you "open" it? - just selecting in message list and looking at message preview in main 3-pane window? - in a tab? - in a window? - When the message appears without the yellow Remote Content notification, how does it look? - Does it show remote content? - Does it actually render "Original HTML" or perhaps "Plain Text"? > Actual results: > > The yellow "To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message." bar with the "Preferences" button does not automatically appear when I open an email message. > > If I go to View > Message Body As, "Original HTML" is ALREADY CHECKED, but if I select it AGAIN, the yellow message bar and button appears and I can choose to display the remote content. Weird. That seems to indicate that something between the actual status of that option and the UI status is out of sync. > This happens regularly, even most often, but not always. We would need a series of steps which reproduces this reliably - otherwise there's nothing we can do. > --- TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION --- Thanks for providing this info - next time, kindly save it in a text file and attach that via `Attach New File` button above comment 0 ;-) > Expected results: > > The yellow "To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message." bar with the "Preferences" button should automatically appear without having to reselect "Original HTML" in the View > Message Body As menu.
