I do have one potential idea for something _like_ manually creating the task. I believe that tasks can be represented as XML. Perhaps we could change our task registration to use such XML instead of the current method and check the XML directly into the tree. Then the documentation could potentially link to that file and give instructions on how to install it? I don't actually know how reasonable this is. I'm kinda just brainstorming. But I suspect it would be possible.
