After the fix we can no longer reproduce this issue on the latest Nightly on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
These are the steps we took:
Installed Nightly 127 from April 23 (Build ID:20240423094521 ) / Nightly 128 from May 20 (Build ID: 20240520093945)
Updated and through the watershed we reached Nightly 128 from May 27 (Build ID: 20240527092611).
Updated again and reached the latest Nightly 129 from June 16 (Buid ID: 20240616215431).
We then uninstalled Nightly and repeated these steps several times with both versions 127 and 128 mentioned above - and each time we reached the latest Nightly 129 without hangs.

@jlorenzo, are there any other ways that we ca use to verify this fix?
