Nightly version will differ in terms of performance from the release version. If you want to confirm if the issue has been fixed with your old profile, you can either try firefox [sync](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sync) or try the steps mentioned [here](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles#w_restoring-to-a-different-location). But since we dont see the crash anymore in nightly, I think we can safely assume your issue has been fixed. Let us know if you see further crashes with your old profile with nightly.
