Would you like to build the fix, if you know better?

I am now back at my desktop, I have `hg annotate`, various ways to abuse unit-tests, creative use of `searchfox-cli`, bespoke tooling to check the equivalence of refactored functions and wasted hours on this.

This claimed bug id does not hold up, but if it makes you feel better you can request a backout.
