I am guessing that its source code could also be used as inspiration. I tried to manually apply the changes this addon made, but the strategy that add-on used no longer works for me. After manually changing the content-type header and opening the .eml file, Thunderbird no longer displays the message text. Executing the delete attachment action doesn't change that.
