Well instead of reverting back (easy non-solution), if someone encountering the regression could try to look at why it is happening and identify what may be the root cause and identify a possible fix (painful solution) that would be a greater option.

Because removing patch means intentionally reverting back to awful TB performance that have been plaguing end-users for about 11 years! Now may be a right moment to look into it and have it fixed...

Perhaps could be an issue related to the offline cache feature... as it is activated by default but I don't use it... (disable it manually)... just a hint...
