The FxA team utilizes UTM tracking methodology to associate attribution data with new signups. Currently our deeplink handler in Fennec does not allow for the passing of UTM parameters when a deeplink is called. This disallows us from passing important information (such as source, or other contextual data) in to Amplitude when a signup is completed on mobile.

We suspect this inability of Fennec to support UTM parameters in deep links is related to this issue:

We would like to ensure that deeplinks, most notably the deeplink to the Firefox account signup page as implemented in the Firefox Preview MVP, is able to support UTMs tracking parameters.
