Details

Firefox 29 on Mac OS X Mavericks.

On Mac, pressing Apple while doing an action in a background window is the standard way of doing the action without bringing the window to front.

In Firefox, I have a background window B and a front window F.

I try to Apple-select some of the address in the address bar of window B.

It does not work.

It would be nice to have that work.

Then, I would like to Apple-drag-and-drop my selection into my front window F.

All of that work in Safari, without bringing the background window to the front. 
It would be handy to have that work in Firefox.
