1020018 - Mozilla builds on ZTE Open C and Flame are "zoomed" compared to other 480px width devices

There is less room on Flame and Open C screens than on Keon, ZTE Open, and Buri. This is as simple as that and this is causing major breakage.

For the Open C, it's like we are shipping devices without l10n QA at all, because QA has been done on larger screens (QAnalysts used Buri devices).
All the strings that fit on Buri and ZTE Open does not necessarily fit on ZTE Open C anymore, and we can expect a lot of unexpected truncations.

We'll have even more serious bugs, see the attached screenshot for instance. I (French localizer) set the Browser tabs width to fit the Keon and Buri screen in French, which was supposed to be the smallest supported screen, in order to avoid truncations. So obviously if builds are zoomed like on Open C, it's broken and looks terrible.

We will need to get that fixed on 1.3 (can ZTE provide OTA for that?) and make the UI get the same width as on Buri, ZTE Open, etc.

Hi,

I think ZTE France is using a more recent version. When you first connect to wifi, you get a software update which puts you on :
FFOS_EU_EBAY_OPENCV1.0.0B04
ZTE France (Yvonnick) confirmed they're working on B06 version.
Please find attached the browser. I don't see any truncation.

Thanks a lot Natalia, I feel a bit better now. I tried with an Open C from ebay and I can see the same thing as on your screenshot. (I just received the B04 OTA).

So, the Open C is not concerned by this bug anymore, but the Flame is.
