Bug 1019642 allows for the size of the wikipedia plugin to be smaller for different use cases but the font size remains the same for all cases.

We should either have something dynamic calculated based on the size of the container or simply give the user the option to specify it in some way.
Can I get some more detail in how you think this should work? because I kinda like it the way it is.

I think what's important is that it's always readable.
Say this is what your resize the wikipedia event to be https://www.dropbox.com/s/4u1hdqayqd44r2y/Screenshot%202014-06-16%2011.27.08.png

I would make the argument that isn't readable. There is very little of the available content itself that is showing forcing the reader to scroll probably more than desirable. More importantly though, you can only read a few words before being forced to scroll.
If you know a way to make that readable, it should auto do that.

It can afford to become smaller, and still be readable, so maybe that's what we should do automatically if the container gets too small?

Keep in mind if the canvas size changes the text in wikipedia changes, and can get unreadable, unfortunately.
