We have a new batch of snippets to localize. Unlike last times, we're using Bugzilla because each locale has different snippets, so add your localization directly in the comment section.

Deadline for all snippets is July 15th.

In the last comment I have added the localised version of the strings in Hindi [hi_IN].

In order to weed out confusion , I have revised the entire string. Following strings must be considered as corrected localised version.

Thank you Chandan! Being new to this language - should the word "Firefox OS" be in English? I just know that in other languages we usually use branded words in English but let me know if it's different for hi-IN.
Firefox OS should not be translated or transliterated, so please keep it in English.

@Francesco Yes its true. As discussed with Rajesh Ji for Hindi we generally translate product name too.

So can we move ahead with this one ?

@Meghraj Can you pease add as a comment the final localized string?
In case of Firefox OS you technically can't translate the brand: file containing the official branding is not localizable. The result would be a mix of translated and untranslated brand names.
@Francesco, yes but we always "फ़ायरफ़ॉक्स ओएस" isntead of "फायरफौक्स ओ.एस." in all SUMO articles as well as in other strings.
I mean instead of Firefox OS ("फ़ायरफ़ॉक्स ओएस").

So finally i have reviewed whole string which has been translated by Chandan, and also corrected, so @Francesco you now may close the bug before that Umesh if have a look on new localized content.

I asked both Jeff's and Pei's opinion about this, since there were discussions about localizing brands. My understanding is that Firefox OS should never be translated, but I want to be sure about this.

Basically: Firefox OS inside the phone is not localizable, so whenever the interface says "Firefox OS", it will be displayed as "Firefox OS". In my opinion, localizing pages and calling it फ़ायरफ़ॉक्स ओएस would be confusing for users

There's time before deadline, so we can discuss this further after the week-end.
Flod is correct, Firefox OS and Mozilla should be left in English.  Let's keep all branding in English for now, as it is the current Mozilla policy.

The discussion is to resume because there is new leadership in branding and Marketplace since this topic was hotly debated.  We will share any revised policy with the localization community.

Umesh, please make sure this policy is reflected in all projects you are working on.  I am collecting information from localization communities working in languages using different scripts than Latin.  This applies to all Indic language.  I will the email to the leaders and  they can help spread the words and gather feedback.

- Have you ever think  how a person who don't know latin script, how s/he will read "FirefoxOS" if not written in Hindi?
- Have you ever thought about how newspaper is writing a brand in newspaper or news channel?
- Better to register a brandname in Hindi also, a good idea indeed!
- Though Style Guide approved from Hindi community says to transliterate any Brand Name (http://fuelproject.org/styleguide/index ), so here our community members did the same! But if any how Firefox is so much 'strict' about brand then why not they put the name as placeholder like [BRANDNAME]!
- To respect diversity it is better to allow the community to take own decision, 'Transliterating' anything is not offensive! I am fully aware of the conventional logic behind not translating Brand Name. You can keep it somewhere in image form with ®™ like symbol! Just putting the points discussed among group of people of Hindi community. I also think, we, as a open source company, need to think out of box.
- Also two different scripts looks very ugly when come together, often!
