Not much I can add. This is the second time that I have suffered from this problem after downloading Firefox update (I have so far resisted downloading the latest update). The problem occurred on both my desktop and my netbook (Win7 Home Premium) and was cured when I used System Restore to get rid of the update. Curiously, there were no further problems when I later downloaded the first update. The problem was that most keystrokes registered as normal, but then a bunch of four or five (together) would simply not do so. It was particularly noticeable in Hotmail - but that's pretty well all I use Firefox for, so it may not be significant. Sorry not to be able to add anything more specific.

From your latest comment it looks like an application (other than firefox) is interfering with the keyboard input.
