Something on the Live Updates page http://party.webmaker.org/en-US/live-updates starts playing a burst of sound/music after about 10-15 minutes. Both Amira and I have heard it.

Pretty sure it's the quilt.

Please remove as it is disconcerting!
so thats what that was!

Are there popcorn makes embedded in there? they can do that.
Its not possible to do anything about this if we're searching for all makes (even just thimble makes) tagged #makerparty.

The quilt loads a preview into an iframe so the page is actually loaded along with any audio content in it. Makes are loaded in randomly from the list of the 100 most recently tagged.

We could remove the preview iframe entirely else its going to be some fairly nasty/janky hacks to strip out anything with sound.

The other option which I'd recommend over the former, is to refine the quilts search for only makes tagged #makerparty-quilt which are far less likely to have sound in, and more likely to be remixes of projects we produced for makerparty this year.
If we only search the #makerparty-quilt tag, I could clarify that in the sentence about the quilt on the site. I just worry that not very many people will use that tag, and the quilt will only ever have a few makes. We've learned from past experiences that it's best to have just 1 tag.
My thinking around it is not to promote the tag that people should use to get onto the quilt by the pre-made projects to remix. Just like we did w/ #MillionMozillians and #webwewant

We could then reach out to people throughout the campaign who've made awesomethings we'd like to see show up in there and ask them if the mind us getting people to remix that too (after that projects gets the tag added).

Having a slightly more controlled set of starter projects also allows us to get some other interesting numbers + information. For example the #webwewant quilt makes are all essentially testimonials that are fairly easy to scrape out (and there is already a tool to do that https://github.com/fuzzyfox/supportopen-fetch) We could can also then track approximate remix complexity of these projects over the campaign too (as we'd know the original project things were remixed from).
Ok. Let's go with #makerparty-quilt to populate the quilt, then. We need to get rid of that sound!
