I'm wondering if we're creating three lists which all have the same set of people on it. If that was the case, a single list would be good enough.

I'm a bit torn on having a localization list for a region, but that's more a concern of taxonomy than a concern of usefulness.
l10n-* lists are normally by language rather than region. community-* lists are by region. So the first and third seem right; not sure about the second. What languages are spoken in Sri Lanka? Sinhala and Tamil? If so, we would want dev-l10n-si and dev-l10n-ta.

Gerv
Hi Axel, Gervase,

Tamil is one of the National Language in Sri Lanka and it speak 4 million out of 20 million.

There might be an issue if we create dev-l10n-ta as 'ta' is originally represented Tamil for India.
There was a issue with ta_LK (Tamil Sri Lanka locale) several years ago. I hope Axel can remember it the discussion on dev-l10n. None of ta_LK localizer replied to it though Indian Tamil localizer were pointing its useless, etc.

As there is no active contribution from ta_LK I thought of getting all Sri Lankan localizers under dev-l10n-lk where we can have only Sinhala localizers under dev-l10n-si.

I don't want to jump in to unwanted issues while I am struggling to complete both Firefox Desktop while keeping FirefoxOS l10n up to date.

I hope now you have an idea about why I requested those mailing lists.
But feel free to create at least dev-l10n-si and community-srilanka.

Thanks
OK, over to server-ops for implementation of mozilla.dev.l10n.lk and mozilla.community.sri-lanka (with hyphen).

Is it possible to rename an existing mailing list?
for example, rename dev.l10n.lk as dev.l10n.si
