In an HTML [select][/select] list, you can type the first letter to jump to that
section of a list. (this is fine)

On Unix (at least 4.x did this, 6.x no longer does), you can type multiple
letters and it will jump to nearest possible match.  In other words, if you type
'bea', it should jump you to '[bea]r' instead of 'baz'->'eagle'->'apple'.

This single letter jump can be very inconvenient in looong select lists (ie.
200+ items).  As I say, Unix client used to...now no longer does. :(

I agree, in hopefully the near future we will be switching over to XBL-based 
form controls. Maybe we can add it at that time.

Typing multiple letters now seems to jump to the nearest possible match instead of jumping to the first letter of words. Probably fixed?
