How do I set up a feed so that posts tagged mozilla are included in planet mozilla?

I see you've got "mozilla" and "mozilla-culture" tags, so I think that:

 http://valianttry.us/category/mozilla,mozilla-culture/feed/

is the feed you want, if you want both mozilla and mozilla-culture, obvs. 

   http://valianttry.us/category/mozilla/feed/  

... will do the trick if you just want the one. 

What's your preference?

Quick Q -- are the previous tagged posts posted to planet mozilla? i assume only future posts will go live there?

I don't know! I think that only the recent posts will appear, though it seems like although you've got three stories in that feed, and they may not be recent enough to appear directly.
