Details
What happens is after creating a mail message and hitting the send button, the send mail just stalls. The "Sending Message" dialog comes up and it never progresses past the "Connecting to server" part. There is no error. The log doesn't say anything, but it just doesn't send. It waits and waits until I end up cancelling the process. I've tried several solutions: 1) Editing my prefs file manually. 2) Trying two different SMTP servers - I use PostFix on my normal email and when checking the server logs it seems to receive the initial connect request, but Mozilla never continues. 3) Creating a local SMTP log by adding the environment variables, but it doesn't give any error message.

This preference was in my prefs file that I when I took out worked: user_pref("mail.smtpserver.smtp2.redirector_type", "netscape"); I had installed Netscape 6.1 before Mozilla. Sorry, my bad.
