Looking at this page, it's hard to understand what exactly the results are referring to. I am now used to it, and the first thing I do is to look at each URL to understand what the different results are about.

Could we mark the search results with some sort of flags, like "CSS", "SVG", "JS", "XUL", ...

I like this idea. We should show a subset of tags next to each result. That subset would include a few key items, as listed by Paul. Ideally, the tag list to show would be editable by admins.

Show them in little bubbles after the title, perhaps.

This would be great for helping to find exactly what you're looking for in a list.

So the results should have the relative tag beside it right?... It will take some time because I have just started with MDN so I will gather all the necessary information and work on it... Thanks

fauxwizard: I don't think this is a good second bug. It will be challenging to implement, and we're in the middle of an ElasticSearch upgrade, so there will be lots of code changes around search this month. I also believe that tag-based topic filters are a dead end and will be removed in the next 12 months.
