It is unfortunately a sad fact of life that there is no commonly shared standard for the names of special IMAP folders (Sent, Drafts, Trash). It would be lovely if everybody followed one standard, and I understand we want to have configuration of an email account in FxOS E-Mail app as simple as possible, but it is really awful when I have here a Zarafa IMAP server and I have two Sent boxes (Sent and Sent Items), two trashes (Trash, Deleted Items), and fortunately at least Drafts are Drafts (but they don't have to be).

I am afraid we need to add some configuration option for a common IMAP account to change the names of the folders FxOS expects to find.
There is a standard, it's http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6154 and we should be honoring it.

We also have some heuristic stuff for older servers/etc. As of v2.1 we should recognize 'sent items' and 'deleted items' appropriately on non-rfc6154 servers, in addition to the 'sent' and 'trash' we already recognized.

Please indicate which version of Firefox OS you're testing with. If it's v2.1/v2.2 maybe we need to plumb something through better.

It's probably also worth noting that the email app is not clever enough to clean up after the damage it has done and lacks the ability to delete folders. If making sure v2.1/v2.2 are doing the right thing, you'll want to remove the account from your device, delete the folders you don't want, then re-add the account.

Sorry, I am no the Nightly train. But I used to use v1.* so I have already all these duplicate accounts in place. Do you want to say, that if I removed my account in FxOS, deleted by some other means all non-Zarafa folders and configured FxOS again, it won't create duplicates?

Well, I've tried and it is just not true. Email program shows me "Odeslaná" (Sent in Czech) folder while I had just "Sent Items" folder before starting it. And that "Odeslaná" folder is empty, whereas Sent Items have many messages.

Did you really mean to close this? Based on your comment 4 it sounds like we are definitely not doing the right thing and we can improve our behaviour here, especially since browserbox has logic that should be recognizing "sent items" as a sent folder regardless of what the server tells us. I was hoping to be able to get to this soonish since I have some other folder-related bugs to look into.
